How To Enroll

Please carefully read the instructions on this page and then download and complete our registration form. Mail in your completed registration form and deposit(s) to Rocky Mountain Workshops, 505 N. Grant Ave., Fort Collins, CO 80521. Be sure to register early to take advantage of our early registration discounts.

Note that if a minimum number of registrations has not been met by the registration deadline, that workshop may be cancelled. Please register early to help us plan ahead. Thank you.

Don't forget to include your $100 deposit per workshop, and make your check or money order (U.S. funds only) payable to Rocky Mountain Workshops. Sorry, we cannot accept credit cards. Upon receipt of your registration and deposit, a pre-workshop information packet will be sent to you several weeks prior to your workshop. This packet includes:

  • A statement with balance due
  • Complete information on travel to the Colorado State University Mountain Campus
  • Check-in times
  • Course description, tool list, and tool suppliers
  • Personal goals questionnaire
  • A brief medical history form/personal items list

Rocky Mountain Workshops will collect the Room and Board charges on behalf of the Colorado State University Mountain Campus. Receipt of your registration and deposit automatically reserves your room and board at the Colorado State University Mountain Campus .

All workshops begin the evening of the first scheduled date of each course. Rocky Mountain Workshops is not affiliated with Colorado State University. The room and board fee is set by Colorado State University and is not negotiable. As a reminder, all workshop expenses may be tax deductible for professional builders.

Be sure to take advantage of our early registration discounts.  Save $10.00 on your tuition if you enroll by the early tuition deadline.

We also offer a couple's rate discount. The couple's rate applies to two persons using the same registration form and taking the same course.

Deposits

A $100 deposit per person is required for each workshop. The balance is due two weeks prior to the beginning of class. If we don't receive final payment by then, we will offer your place to someone on the wait list.

Cancellations

All course deposits are refundable minus $50.00 up until four weeks prior to the class. If a workshop is under-enrolled three weeks prior to its scheduled date, it may be canceled. We therefore urge you to register well in advance. In the event of a course cancellation, persons who have paid their deposits and/or tuition balance will receive prompt and full repayment.

Tools

Students will be required to bring a basic set of tools for each workshop, most of which are common carpentry tools (tape measure, framing square, combination square, calculator, clamp, etc.). A required tool list, suppliers, and recommended models will be included in the pre-workshop information packet, which is mailed to all registered students about six weeks prior to class. The approximate cost to purchase a set of the basic carpentry tools listed above would be about $80.00. Required specialty tools (timber framing chisel, handsaw, mallet) would cost about $250.00. Please note: these are approximate tool prices and are subject to change. Any mail order tools may include shipping and handling. A variety of specialty tools (axes, adzes, spokeshaves, boring machines, hand planes, etc.) will be on hand and available for student use during our hands-on workshops.

If you have any questions, please e-mail Rocky Mountain Workshops, or call our office at (970) 482-1366 daily, 9 to 5, MST.
